Default GA-965P-DS3 RAM Voltage? (Corsiar Twin X 6400 C4)

Hi, I am insterested in BIOS Setting for the GA-965P-DS3. Below is a post I came across and was wondering if any other users out there can confirm if those setting have worked for them?

Infact can anyone discuss here thier problems they had like, incorect timings and trouble adjusting voltages as well as thier solutions.

Thankyou.

That's what I plan on getting with my E6600 system, or maybe the same thing but with higher latency.

This is exactly what I use and it has worked fine right out of the box. Just set the VDIMM voaltage to +.3 to make it 2.10. This RAM is also rated to work at 533 (1066) at 5.5.5.15.

Good luck.

You should be able to run that RAM at its stock 2.1v no problem. A lot of the low latency, high speed DDR2- has stock SPD timings set up to default to CAS 5 and 1.8v since that is the JEDEC standard. But since they are rated at CAS 4 and 2.1v, it is up to you to set your BIOS settings accordingly.

Some other GA-965P-DS3 owners might want to chime in here with their experiences as I have never touched one of these boards...

Its all up to the memory kit and what the DIMMS are programmed at....as Blake said, most are set to default to 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V to remove any chance of boot errors, but some OC kits have had boot problems caused by their aggressive timings and voltage requirements

Also, while one of the more pricey options.....Corsair arguably makes the best memory on the market. Crucial may have something to say about that, but its expensive too......best bang for the buck memory is OCZ, followed by Mushkin

I have that =P
And thanks to a certain someone, I was informed how to change it from 5-5-5-12 to 4-4-4-12.

(CPU_Z Validation)

Aside from a totally beginner problem I had when I started overclocking (I had my RAM set to 1100mhz, which worked fine for 2 x 512, but when I added 2 x 1gb sticks, it totally mucked it up. LoL)

Never touched the voltage though. Ever. Kept it stock.
