| Hey guys! On friday I got my new system and all of today I have been busy overclocking. So far the highest I managed to get is my x2 3800+ @ 2600MHz (default is 2000). This is about a 30% overclock! I am using G.Skill 2x 1GB DDR2-800 ram. And I am idling at about 25c and loading at 50c with stock cooling and stock paste. I will try out my AS5 tomorrow. It seems fairly stable, but I will do an overnight StressPrime test to verify that it is stable. I hope to beat, or get to what Blake got. My final goal is to hit 3GHz =D I may have to get liquid cooling or better cooling though. I would like to thank Blake for helping me out in the beginning and giving me tips on what to do :) Cheers, -robodude666 Last edited by robodude666; March 31st, 2007 at 23:21. |

| Thank you, thank you, thank you ^^ I ran StressPrime overnight for 10 hours and it passed with flying colors! I ran SuperPI 1M and got 33s (down from 38s stock speed). I am running SuperPI 32M now and will run 3DMark later. Then its on to increasing it to 2700! I may turn off the system and replace the paste with AS5 to lower temp by a degree or two :) Oh, can you say emoticonoverkill-much? -robodude666 |

I discussed about how I don't want a C2D on forums already and I am tired of hearing people say I should get a C2D. People dont have to have the top of the line processor. People should get what they want and what makes them happy. I have had my eye on a X2 rig for a while and I fell in love with this motherboard and it is exactly what I wanted! Thanks for your concern though :) Oh, and the X2 6000+ (3GHz) can run SuperPI 1M in 28s which is close enough imo. It can probably run faster if you increased speed of ram a bit. What I am trying to say is that the X2 3800+ works best for me with price, performance and motherboard selection. UPDATE to my OC: It failed SuperPI 32M (machine froze and didn't respond), but after a reboot it ran SuperPI 32M in 28minutes and 57s! Time to run 3DMark! | Well, I managed to get it running at 2700MHz... I had to raise voltage to 1.3v for CPU and add .1v to the NB. It seems stable so far... Ran StressPrime for 5 hours fine. It passed both super pis and im running 3dmark for it now. My temperature is loading at 55c max. I think I need better cooling before I can move on any more. |
