| alright, so i finished putting my rig together but it seems my zerotherm fan is getting stuck for what ever reason. I don't see it hitting anything, its just trying to turn and wont make it. ![]() ![]() I did not install its remote yet for manual power switch. It was runing fine for a few hours just recently started acting up. When i restart or shut down my computer it seems to start working again.. Is this an issue with the zerotherm fan or is it not getting enough power? ill check back in the morning its really late, but i could really use some help thanks! | ||||||||||||||

| Go into the bios and find automatic fan control. If you turn it off it may work. I had the same issue, its because the CPU is so cool, not enough voltage is going to the fan to start it up. | ||||||||||||||

| still it should be working properly.........Did you get the retail cpu or the oem? If you got the retail I would slap on the stock fan and rma the zerotherm. | ||||||||||||||

| Do you have it connected directly to your PSU or to a header on the motherboard? Try connecting it directly to a cable from the PSU, that is usually the most reliable way. | ||||||||||||||

| Alright i'm about to try all your suggestions, i'm curious though, if i wanted to return the fan, would i have to send them back the backboard part too? (the part that goes behind the mobo) if so, is their an easier way to get it out or is it more like.. time to take every part of the computer apart? Ill go try out those solutions now, i think my CPU was around 31-33C for one processor, and the other 33-36C | ||||||||||||||

| Yeah i think it was the bios thing! i turned off the automatic fan control, and now its fan is going way way way faster then it was before, with the control on, it was going so slow that you could not hear it even a little, so i guess it was trying to give it like no power haha. Now that it is on without the mobo device controlling it, one of my cores is shifting between 27 and 28C and the other one is going between 35-37C So if i want to install the zerotherm fan controller, do i just take the male socket that is entering my mobo from man fan, and place it inside the female socket on the controller, and put the controllers male socket back in the mobo? i could not find where on the psu i should connect the fan so it seems i have to go to the mobo | ||||||||||||||

| looking at the pictures on newegg, it looks like you would connect the fan to the controller and then the controller to the mobo. the pictures don't really zoom in on the fan connectors but from what i can see, that's how it would be done. what do the instructions say? | ||||||||||||||

If your motherboard is capable of it (and you have a 4-pin connector available) the motherboard is able to regulate the speed of the fan. Which is why I imagine you were having problems in the first place due to the fact that the BIOS was interfering with the PWN signal for the CPU fan/heatsink you installed.
