Default WMP11 vista problem..

For some reason my media player quit working and wont play anything at all. I have searched microsofts site and havent found anything, redownloaded the file and it says I cant install an older version. Anyone know how I go about uninstalling windows media player and reinstalling it?

I think if you go into the add/remove programs, on the left hand side there'll be an add/remove window's components... see if wmp is listed in there, if so, uncheck it, close out, then go back in and recheck it... that should reinstall it (seemed to work for ie7...)
