| Functional Alcoholic | Your improper use of punctuation, and lack of capitulation, makes your question hard to understand. Who ever owns the wireless connection has to first give her permission to use their wireless connection, and then give her access to it. Last edited by Hitman; July 2nd, 2007 at 00:08. |

| As long as the laptop can see the connection, then you just need to put the proper password (network key) in there and you're ready to go. If the laptop can't even see the connection, then there is either a problem with the laptop's wireless card or the router itself. If it's the router, make sure in the settings that it's set to transmit the correct type of signal. For example, if the laptop is b/g, and the router is n, then the router could be configured to transmit only n. Make sure it's configured to transmit b/g/n. That's just an example - no matter what, the correct transmission needs to be enabled on the router. That would be my first step. |

| hahaha i speaka engrish the good way all time. *hides dog* You need a network key. Also, some laptop's wireless antennas are better than others and maybe the signal is just strong enough so the laptop can see there is a signal but not strong enough to make a good connection? I think that we need to see a picture of said "friend" in order to really help her out... That way, we can get my... I mean her hardware a happy ending. |
