| I have windows media center 2005 installed (latest rollup 2 patch). Whenever I watch anything on freeview, after a while the picture starts to stutter and slowdown. When I record anything it is often out of sync after a few minutes. I am never doing anything else with the computer at the same time, and there is nothing running in the background apart from F-Secure 2006 anti virus. My computer specs are as follows: AMD Semperon (32bit) 2800+ 1gb DDR400 RAM ATI Radeon 9700 Pro AGP 8x 128Mb (latest catalyst drivers) DVDRW/DVD Windows Xp Pro Media Center Edition 2005 160gb PATA HDD Creative Labs Live! 5.1 Digital Sound Card If anyone can offer any suggestions that would be great. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| The Real Final Word | A couple of things come to mind. One is the 2800 Semperon. That may be a little slow for long periods of viewing, And 2 the anti virus running in the back ground all of the time. I am not familiar with that specific anti virus, but a lot of them are really system hogs. |

| It worked fine using Blaze HDTV Software with my old USB freeview stick. I know its an old CPU now, but it's not THAT slow! I have tried it with anti-virus completely disabled as well and it makes no difference. |

| resident headbanger | the 9700 work well? do you have the latest drivers for that thing? how are you connecting it to your tv? Have you defragged your HDD lately? download ccleaner and maybe clean out some of your old cookies, temp files, etc... -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review |

| ALways keeps on top of basic stuff like that, plus it is doing the same on a brand new installation with nothing else running! |

| The Real Final Word | It sure would appear that it is video card related due to the other thread about the refresh rates. I would think that your vid card it going on the fritz! |
