Do you have any peripherals connected to the system?
Also go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Startup & Recovery -> Settings and uncheck "Automatically restart". When it happens again see if it gives a STOP code or anything.

Well, a quick google of that vthHDAud.sys didnt bring up much.... but it sounds like a sound error, just from the hdaud part. I'd reinstall any sound drivers... I'd reinstall the game or the sound card drivers..... maybe try disabling the onboard sound if that's what your using and seeing if your game still crashes?

Default Re: Windows Crit Erorr

try to see if any of these help...

You receive a "STOP 0x000000D1" error message on your Windows XP Service Pack 2-based portable computer

Stop error message on a Windows XP-based computer: "STOP 0x000000D1"

seems most 0x000000d1 errors are network related but in your case I would suggest updating the sound drivers first and foremost.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Yep, it's the audio device driver. Perhaps it has become corrupted.
