| T-Rex | That problem appeared with Windows Media Player 11 right? The first time I installed WMP11 it also ****ed my stuff. Go to add/remove programs and remove Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Media Player 11 runtimes (two separate components) See if your videos are still purple. If they still are purple, report it here. |

| WMP11 is really screwy. I recommend everyone sticks with WMP10 for now. |

I'm not too sure someone like me (not boosting my ego or anything, but I like to think I know a bit more than the casual user) should have such a problem playing his video files that were working properly before... The initial problem was that I couldn't play video in anything else than WMP11 when using the DirectShow default renderer, I had to use an alternative renderer such as Haali. =| | |

| No worries. You're not missing out on anything by avoiding WMP11. It has no new features, just a messier and more confusing layout that's similar to IE7. (Not to mention its ugly theme.) |

| T-Rex | Well anything other than 11 is OK. Tell us if the same problem occurs, maybe someone can help you. |

| Functional Alcoholic | I have had that problem before, a reboot usually fixes it. I have seen this problem in both WMP 9 and 10. I have never investigated to figure out the real problem, I just reboot and it goes away. One of the times it happened it was because of a bad codec. I reinstalled a more recent one and the problem went away. |
