| I have a Sony VAIO (PCG-7D2L) and I am trying to hook it up to my TV (Sharp Aquos 37D90U). I thought this would be a breeze, but just can't seem to get it to take. I purchased a vga/dvi converter and am using the dvi cable on my tv. I've hooked up my computer to other televisions, and no problem. Any suggestions?....Thanks in advance for your time. Drew ![]() |

| Resolution? Do you have to adjust some video settings so there is signal to the TV? Maybe its the DVI input on the TV itself? |

| Do you have a link or a picture to this device? There are two main types of DVI ports. DVI-I and DVI-D, DVI-I has 4 pins along with a + shaped piece of metal next to the main group of pins. These extra 4 pins carry Analog signals. DVI-D does not have these analog pins. Its a pretty good chance that the DVI input on your TV will only accept digital input, while your adapter just takes the VGA and re-wires it through those 4 pins. If you could provide a product link, or a picture of this adapter, it would be a huge help. | Don't know about the resolution or the pins in the adapter. I gave the adapter away to a friend. What should I go buy to make this work? (adapter) Thanks for all the help. Drew |

Google Image Result for http://www.l-com.com/product_images/detail/PWD_GFN-VGA-2-DVI.JPG If your TV has component in, you should try a VGA to Component adapter. Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 | |

| Wow, that is a little more expensive than the previous $5 adapter I had. Is component cheaper? Thanks for all the help. Drew |
