| Lvl 1 College Student | Are you talking about your mobo's usb ports or other ones? Make sure they are plugged in correctly if so. If they are the motherboard drivers you're talkin about, find your motherboard number (I noticed you don't have it listed in your sig) using CPU-Z. Then a google of "motherboard model # you find" and usb drivers and you'll find something. |

| I have pretty much that same computer as a backup computer, except I put my old Athlon Xp 1700 into it. Windows XP just automatically works with the USB ports, you shouldn't need the drivers. One thing to check is to see if the board has any leaking capacitors. They will look bulged, or popped open, and will have a brown substance coming otu the top or bottom. My board has a few leaking capacitors, but is still running fine. I will replace them eventually though. | could be a chipset issue, i don't know about AMD but i know some older intel boards don't have their USB up to speed unless you install the intel chipset. I assume its the same for AMD |

| Colonel Calamity | also may want to take a look in the BIOS and see if anything USB related is disabled... ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Colonel Calamity | looking around at different stuff on the web and this is actually a very common occurrence... I would suggest trying a PCI expansion card with 4USB ports and see if that works. Also try a different power supply, it may not be supplying enough +5V to power any USB since it is so under powered to run everything else. If it does the same with a different PSU then all the USB connections may be fried and your PCI card with USB ports may be the only option.... maybe ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Modder-ator | Is this only one USB device that you can't get to work on one USB port on your computer or is it every USB port and every device you try connecting to them (like mice, keyboards, flash drives, printers, external hard drives, etc)? Please be as specific as possible about what devices you've tried and what ports you've tried them on. |
