Default USb Broke?

The computer has been running without any problems for over 4 months sicne finding my OC.

2 Days ago the computer locked up twice when playing COD2 and COD4. I thought this was strange, so I clean and reseated everything in the computer and it still has locked up. I noticed that USB plug on the top of the case was a little screwy.... Im guessing I left my headphones plugged in and one of the many kids here ran by, got there feet wrapped in the cord and pulled on the wire, pulling the plug out. The little "black" piece thats inside the plug was still in my heaphones.... after trying to place it back in the USB plug, the entire plug it alittle loose or wably.... the headphones come out very easly and the black piece will not stay in the plug. I understand its a spacer to force the connectors together, but could this be the culprit of my lockups lately?? Im gonna try not using the USB port fo now and see what happens...

Can I glue this piece back in so it stays??

thanks

brad

I doubt you can glue this in properly, but yes, it could be the cause of your lockups. I've seen this a few times, people breaking their USB ports a similar way.
You can't really glue it because there's metal connectors on the plastic thing if you look at your other ports.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?
