| Hi guys, this issue has me pretty perplexed. When i try to boot up i get a long beep and the system starts to reboot again. The system continues this process until i hold to power button to shut the system down I dont get picture or anything. My first thought is that maybe my power supply blew out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. | Open up the case and double check that the memory and any add-on cards (like video card, sound card, etc) are fully installed. Better yet, take them out and re-install them to make sure. If that doesn't work, try using the clear CMOS jumper to reset the BIOS. Have you made any changes to the computer recently? Have you physically moved the machine at all? | ||||||||||||||

| Looks like one of my crucial memory sticks went bad and corrupted some data on my harddrive. Will the repair option on the Windows XP disc repair this damage or do I have to do a complete reinstall of windows? ![]() "Show them no mercy for they shall show you none" Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz Ati x1900GT Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 3 gigs Crucial Ballistix PC 6400 ddr2 2 HDD 400 total gigs Klipsch 7.1 Pro Media speakers 22" HP w2207h Last edited by FlameofTheWest; May 10th, 2008 at 09:32. | ||||||||||||||

| Try the repair. It's not guaranteed to work, but it's worth a shot before trying a complete format. e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. | ||||||||||||||

| If it is just data that is corrupted, it probably can't be repaired unless you can overwrite the file somehow. If it is a bad sector on the actual disk, then its a toss up if the Windows Disk checker thing can fix it. There's no reason not to try and let Windows attempt to fix it though... | ||||||||||||||
