Default Strange Graphics Problem

When I leave my computer on for more than a few hours (like more than 5 hours straight) the screen starts flickering and "popping," like an old movie. When I restart, the problem goes away, even it it's a "soft" restart where the computer never fully turns off. I don't think the GPU is overheating because it's fine after a soft restart. I have not checked the GPU temps, however.

What could be causing this problem? Thanks!

Not sure... I'll have to wait until it happens again to experiment.

Speakers close to the monitor? Anything that could cause interference close to the monitor cables( (even more if you're using VGA cables instead of DVI)
Stuff to check. :)

The speakers are close to the monitor, and I am using a VGA cable (not DVI). I'll experiment with these things, thanks Polo!

Maybe check the video card for dust buildup, maybe it's slowly overheating.
