Default Sound on DVD's is really low

I have Logitec Z4-i speakers and I love them. They are awesome-sauce and I can't go back to lesser speakers willfully.

I also have a SB Audigy 2Z

However, for some reason, when I watch a dvd on my PC, the sound goes insanely quiet. Everything else is normal volume, but the DVD's sound is as if my volume were at 5%.

Is there some sort of codec I don't have installed right or something?

What are you using to view the movies? And what kind of DVD drive is it?

You could also check to make sure the CD/DVD volume is up in windows.

The audio track on a DVD is a much lower volume than most other recordings (hence the insane volume when you play an audio CD in your DVD player). You should look into some amplification plugins. I haven't looked, but I'm sure you'll find something for VLC.

Did you ever get this problem figured out or do you still need help?
