Default Should i be concerned?

The sensor speeds are 5 apart. And the core temps are 6 apart.
I did a remount a few days ago and this is the first time the core temps have been so far apart, but to be fair it is a cool morning and the core temps are normally between 28-34 depending on weather, not 20-26.

I used everest to stress test the cpu, and the core temps went up together and stayed at 32c, so i assume its just at the very low idle temps that i see a difference.

One note, the last time i checked sensor speeds they both came out to 4.
And another note, last night i had a power out, at which time i turned the power source off on my psu and unplugged it.

Edit: that program is real temp btw, i was told it was made for the E8400?

Then yes, you should be worried. This is a sign that the thermal paste isn't spread out evenly along the cpu. I'd recommend you lap it again with AS5 or IC7 and consult this guide to help you out

You probably don't have to go to the extreme of lapping your CPU IHS as Panda Man suggested. If you are uneasy about those temp readings, you can try removing your processor, cleaning everything, then remounting it all back (especially since you said you've never had this happen before with this same combo). If the remount doesn't work, then you can try lapping it if you want, but that will only have an effect on your overall temperature, not necessarily the temperature difference between the cores. Your temps are very low and there is no cause for alarm there.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. That message is only saying that the change in temperature is not accurate and shouldn't be fully trusted. But it also states that only holds true for idle temperatures, load temperatures should be more accurate. Try putting a load on your system (like StressPrime or SuperPI) and see what the temperatures do then.

Guys, I believe he forgot to mention that the temps were the same at all times after the remount. His idle temps were always 22c'ish both cores, and load temps where 36c. The temps were never apart like it is now, (20c, 26c).

He did an excellent remount, he put a line of TIM across the cores, and we spread it out evenly.

It could be that Core 2 isn't able to show temps lower than 26c now?

BTW, he said that when he stress tests the CPU, the load temps are the same (i.e. 36c-36c).

the E8xxx series is notorious for a sensor thats "off" or stuck. one of my cores always reads 5c higher than the other at idle, and never dips below 30c. however at load they match. your temps are great so you dont have to worry about it. besides, the load temps are the same, so to me that just shows a stuck thermal sensor

I missed that part, and yeah, lapping may be a bit too much :P

also should mention incase anyone else is curious, lapping does void the warranty on the CPU as Intel's RMA requires all the information on the face of the CPU as well as the black serial # and heatsink number/manufacture plant. I just mailed my E3110 to intel today

Ditto. And even then, it's not like you could be sure those are "real temps".

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?
