Default rear fan off and on off and on

My rear fan keeps going off and on high speed at about 20 second intervals only in a game (GRAW) I dont even need to be moving around,it just keeps going onto high speed? I know everything is clean,I just had it apart a few days ago. Head scratcher.

Your PSU might be having some problems. Try running the fan off a different connector, or even off the motherboard.

by chance, is that fan connected to a special fan molex? some PSU's have a special temperature controlled fan molex....it ramps up as the temperature goes up.

Try moving the fan header to another molex, then try running the fan directly from the board....that should isolate the problem as the fan or the PSU.

Could it be a temperature controlled fan?

sounds like you have a female fan. use male fans from now on, they much more stable.

EVGA GTX 280 SLI * Western Digital Velociraptor * ASUS BC-1205PT Blue Ray Drive * Danger Den Torture Rack
