| I am looking for help as to how to turn off the speaker/volume/audio of the read-write process as indicated by the flashing amber light on the front of the CPU; everytime the computer reads or writes I get a continuous stream of "clicks" - this noise is very annoying and nobody in any technical help rooms has been able to supply a solution! I have been advised by others to mute AUX, CD and Line In, unfortunately this has made no difference. Please there must be somebody on the planet that can make my computer work in silence, so I can enjoy music, games and general surfing without this infuriating background noise. My knowledge of pc's is very limited; I know I have XP Home and an Asus Terminator 2 Barebone System Model T2-P (it says so on the user guide!) if that's of any help. |

| Super Moderator | Like FR noise. If you unhook your speakers, does the sound stop? (I'm trying to make sure its not the system speaker. If so, then try moving the speakers away from the box. Also, you might switch the placement of the audio card (if its using one). If there is more than one audio out jack on the back, try a different one (even a head phone jack). Sometimes moving the computer can even help. |
