| Randomly, I'll hear the typical windows sound when a device disconnects, and my D: will disappear. Windows's taskbar will then pop up a bubble message saying something about "delayed write failed" etc etc. What's goin on, is my drive failing? My C: and D: are both partions of the same drive... if the drive was crapping out, wouldn't my c: go also? I don't know what's up and it's disturbing me =\. I'm considering just formatting, but I thought I'd ask anyway. |

| A Lonely Geek | Never heard of that one...hopefully someone else has. Keep in mind if you are having MBR problems, a mere format may not correct them. I guess one question that should be asked...is your D: a partition you set up, or your recovery drive? |

| I've gotten that error before while hotswapping drives and not waiting waiting for the drive to unload properly, but not ever with a partition on the same drive. That erroe normally happens when a drive is being unloaded from the desk top or power it down to quickly. Maybe your partition is failing or the drive its self. | I set up the partition through Windows setup. My D: is simply storage. I haven't ever unplugged the drive while the computer was on, but it definitely makes the sound of a device being disconnected when it disappears... |
