Question Problem with memory or motherboard?

Hello! First post and let see if I can find help here. I'm not good overclocking but I make the mistake to get this board and memory and now: Since I build the configuration, from the botton, I have a problems with it. I'm having random re-starts and sometimes trouble to start the pc.
Last February I sent the memory to crucial UK, for RMA. They send me a brand new memory, but I'm not able to run both sticks together, or running memtest without errors when testing each one. When I put both stick on the orange slots I get beep and 3 lights on. My PC keep restarting all the time, even crash on games like simcity4 or fifa07.
I play a lot wit the timming but nothing.
The other thing is: I'm able to use only the inner orange slot. The problem can be with the board?
I just want to make my system running stable I don't care right now about performance.

DFI LanpartyUT nF4 Ultra-Dr
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2x Crucial Ballistix 1GB PC-4000
XFX Geforce 7800GTX
NEC DVD+/-RW ND-3540A - IDE 1/0
Enermax Liberty 500w
NEC 20WGX2

I'll appreciate any help. Thank you.

That DFI motherboard you have is very particular about the memory you give it and there is very possibly just some incorrect setting in the BIOS that is making your memory throw errors. Try setting the BIOS to "Fail Safe Defaults" and see if that solves your problems.

If the problems persist, do you possibly have some other DDR memory to test out?

Now about your memory problem - if you can stay in Windows long enough to download MemTest86+ and burn it onto a CD, then do so and run it. It will just boot up if you put the CD first in the BIOS boot priority, and if the CD is in upon startup.

BUT before you do that, do what blake mentioned for sure!

Interesting that you have the Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra DR, and I have the Ultra D!!
From some of the searching that I have done in the past, most all of the NF4's did not get along with the Crucial Ballistix memory!!! This could be very much the problem that you are having with this board!!!

As GvBlake22 pointed out, see if you can come up with some other DDR just to try the board out.

One other question that comes to mind, have you flashed to the latest Bios????

With that memory, you may have to set a higher voltage than stock, so check out the Crucial website and see what voltage that memory is supposed to run at.

Very good point.

That RAM, if it's the same as the DDR2 voltages, is rated at 2.2v.

EDIT:

Actually, it seems like it may be higher than I though (forgot about the DDR world for a second). I'm seeing some Crucial Ballistix DDR sets at around 2.8v. Can we have a model number?
