| 5 Minute Mod Man | Ok, I am going to list all the possible reasons that I can think of. This can be for any build. This would be for no power whatsoever... No working fans or anything. I want everyone to check the list and add anything I may have missed. 1) Not plugged in. 2) PSU Switch turned off. 3) Faulty/Non-working PSU. 4) Motherboard power connectors not seated properly (20/24 pin or 4/8 pin). 5) Faulty/Non-working Case (power) Switch 6) CPU not seated properly. 7) Front Panel Switch connectors on incorrect pins. 8) Faulty/Non-working Motherboard. 9) Bent cpu or MB pins 10) Battery Dead 11) Motherboard bend (wrong size standoffs or overtightened HSF) 12) Grounded Motherboard (make sure all standoffs are in correct locations and no other metal touching mobo) Last edited by PrOLifIC_onE; December 5th, 2007 at 15:55. | The actual wall receptacle and/or circuit breaker and/or power bar might also be a good thing to check. || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |

| Modder-ator | I don't think an improperly seated processor would prevent all the fans from spinning up. You would probably destroy the processor and/or motherboard, but I think (at least the first try) the fans would at least spin up. |

| On my old Athlon 64 rig, the CPU was lifted out of the socket a bit on one side, the fans powered up, but just no POST. Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |

| Same here. The pins were a little bent so the processor wouldn't go in all the way. The fans spun up but there was no display. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| I'm Evil | the motherboard could be grounded as well, but other than that you covered everything I'd think to check INTEL QX9650 ASUS P5E3 Premium 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Tower-26 (Custom W/C) 5 x Seagate 250GB HDD in RAID5 BFG ES 800W PSU |

| T-Rex | I could prove you wrong. =) I've seen more than a few boards not start, fan(s) not starting, no beeps, light on board lit when a component wasn't inserted properly. Most often though they start, no display and beep. |
