Default No way to change the bios...?

Hey guys,
so here at Left-Click, we've been able to solve everything, but today, i come to you bearing a question from Satan himself.....

There's a dell we have that came in today, No PS/2 ports, only USB.

There's the typical NTDLR missing error up on the screen.

You need a keyboard to advance past this.

NONE of the USB ports work.

We;ve tries USB add-in cards, usb in, ps/2 out splitters, everything we can think of.

We can't turn USB on in the BIOS because we have no other way of controlling it.

Any ideas?

So there's no way to tell the BIOS how to handle (BIOS or OS) USB devices? No option for Legacy USB support?

Can you hook up the "front usb port" from a case and connect it to the MB?

erm...I needed to read a little better.

Are you using USB 2.0 keyboards? Might be a long shot, but maybe you can locate a USB 1.1 keyboard? Or vise versa.

I'd pull the CMOS battery for about 15 minutes.....that might clear things up. sometimes shorting the CMOS pins isn't enough, and it needs awhile to clear out.....short of that, if theres no PS/2 ports available, theres not much you can do.

If Capper's idea doesn't pan out, try this. If it has a 3.5" drive, format a floppy disk on another computer, make it a bootable disk of course, and use that to boot with. That will get you past the NTDLR missing error. Hopefully, the Bios will let you use a USB KB beyond that.

Otherwise, it sounds like all the controllers burned up on the south bridge and you're screwed anyway.
