| I used to have audio fine, but just out of the blue I cannot get anything out. I did all the troubleshooting possible. What I did last is I re-installed the realtek 7.1 surround audio driver but still nothing. Anybody knows what it could be? My specs are in my sig Thanks Intel Q6600 Corsaire 2x1gb XMS2 GIGABYTE 965P-DQ6 BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320 OCZ EvoStream 720w XP PRO |

| Colonel Calamity | most of the time the sound in windows is muted or the realtek sound is disabled in device manager... othe then that you may have a bad sound chip and need to go with a PCI sound card ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Colonel Calamity | if you recently added that sound card, many times the bios will automatically recognize a PCI sound card and disable onboard sound... then if you took it out, the bios may have it still disabled... that would be the next step I would suggest... otherwise it may be the sound chip gone bad. I have had issues with my OB sound on my DS3 so I just completely disabled it in the bios. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Modder-ator | It is called "Azalia Codec" located under the "Integrated Peripherals" menu; it should be set to "Auto" if you want to use onboard sound and disabled if you are using an add-on PCI sound card. |

| Modder-ator | Can you get any sound with headphones plugged into the green line-out jack? Try going into Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and remove any drivers that have anything to do with audio of some kind, restart the computer and try reinstalling the latest drivers from the driver CD that came with your motherboard or from Gigabyte's website. |
