Hi, We've just bought everything we needed to build a new lab machine, but cannot get the thing to boot at all. There's nothing what so ever on screen - can someone please please please help us with some troubleshooting? Our hardware is as follows: NF4SK8AA-8EKRS Amd Opteron Socket 969 Model 146 Nvidia geforce 7300gs We've tried it all - changing BIOS settings, reset CMOS etc. etc. but on switching on, all the fans start but nothing happens. It's driving me crazy and are just about to throw the thing out of the window and get a Dell!

Please list complete hardware as well. Some basic things to try : Have you tried running with minimal hardware attached? Do you get any beep codes ? Have you tried any other video cards or ram? Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180

| Modder-ator | Lead Head is on the right track, those are some of the first things I would try as well. My other thought is that the BIOS on that board might just not support the Opterons. If you could find another s939 chip to try, that would be worth your while too. And when you say you tried changing BIOS settings, does that mean you were able to get into the BIOS at one time? |

Thanks for answering - we've spend so long with this thing, we're about to pull it apart and send it back! We've tried with out any components plugged in at all, then added them in one by one to see if that changed things. Sadly, don't have spare video / processors around to experiment with. Other posts on the web suggest a few people have managed with the same setup and no issues. No, couldn't get into the BIOS, just changed the jumper as per instructions. Complete HW (other than above obviously): SATA 80GB Drive LG CDRW DVDR 2x1GB ram DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 128Meg x 64 And that's about it. Thanks again

Hi, Again, sadly, we've only got mac laptops, and a few iMacs - this was a machine to install linux / windows as a tester really. Going to send the parts back ahhhhhh! Sadly, we had no time to get something installed on this box last Thursday and now it's not likely to get done till next week. Never easy is it?!
