Exclamation New Computer Trouble

Ok so i recently purchased computer parts off of Newegg, the specs are in my sig, and i am having some trouble.

First of all i have installed the graphics card and a wireless network adapter, along with the needed dvd drive and hdd. The system starts up, all fans turn on and the screen goes black. Also all the little lights for the power go on. Im at a loss right now. There arent any blinking lights either, nothing seems to be working right. I have read the motherboard manual, but it doesnt seem very complete, it says it should be going through a setup for the POST and then go into the BIOS. But all the screen says is that it is not connected or something like that. It is still running now, and the wireless card is blinking, but other than that nothing is happenning.

Anyone have any helpful advice.

Video card problem. If the screen turns black, theres a signal..... and if everything else is powering on...the problem is the graphics.
Doesn't that board have onboard graphics? If so, power down, and remove the video card, then if it fires up and you can get into the BIOS, set it up to use the card instead

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Try pulling one stick of memory and disconnecting peripherals (optical, hard drive). At this point, we can take the videocard off the list until further notice., but I would continue troubleshooting using the onboard graphics until we find the culprit.

ooh i just noticed that when i hit the power button, the system flicks on the immediately off, then after like a second or two, it turns on. Could this be a problem?

edit:
THERE IT GOES!
I took out a stick of RAM, and it fired up

Cool deal! It's either a bad stick of RAM, or double check that you had them in the correct slots for dual-channel operation.

well given that there are only two slots, im not sure if it can be wrong.

As for the BIOS, what do i do in it??

Without knowing the settings....its hard to say. I'd make sure the board is set up to use the graphics card as opposed to the on board.
Test both sticks individually, to see if one really is bad

There's really no way to disable onboard video per se (as far as I know anyway!). When you insert a videocard into an AGP or PCI-e slot on a mobo, the BIOS and OS will recognize that as the default video driver in lieu of the onboard video. Onboard sound, however, is different. Most mobo's use Realtek's AC97 audio for onboard sound that you can (should) disable if you have a separate soundcard. I know you didn't specify that in your original post, but felt it was worth noting that you could disable that in your BIOS since you were asking about disabling video.
