| Last week, my rig started freezing when it would display the mobo type and then the processor type but right before the ram test. So I reseated the ram and that seemed to clear it up. But now it is doing it again. I can't even get into bios to check the config because it will not respond at all. | No Sanity, no problem. | Do you have a single 1gig stick or 2 X 512s? If 2 X 512, I would remove one and try a boot, and see where that gets you. Try the same thing with the other, just sounds like you have bad memory. I know their are some testing programs, but not of the top of my head. =S Asus P5N32-SLI SE Delux Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 XFX Nvidia GeForce 7900GT OCZ Gold 1Gig (2x512) PC2 6400 Ultra Aluminum Blue Full Tower ATX Case Ultra Connect X 2 Wire Modular 550w PSU |

| The virus posted in other thread was found on my internet server just after I posted this thread..lol I have a single stick of ram. I have the ram test tool on a floppy somewhere. I will have to dig for it. | Well the ram test was a good idea but since the rig won't boot far enough to boot off the floppy, I am guessing that won't help me. Looks like I am in the market for new ram. | Ok guys. I have managed to get it to boot up by reseating the ram again. I have been running the ram test tool for about 2 hours now with advanced test on. It is showing no errors in the ram. How long should I run this. I mean the way it is acting, it should have found something by now right? Just so you know, my ram is not and never has been overclocked nor has my mobo or cpu. I blew out the dust the first time this happend and reseated the ram stick but it continues to lock up. I know it's not a temp issue because my rig has been off for the last 2 days until I got home today. | Silence..Or I kill you! | Have you tried to run with just one monitor??? Also, when you go into the BIOS, is it reporting the proper settings for the CPU, and ram??? I have seen some mobo's, when set to the default setting, will actually NOT set the CPU to the proper fsb, and divider ![]() Just a thought, I don't know if you have checked all of that yet or not? |
