Default New battery is "incorrectly installed"

Some of you may know I just bought a new extended life battery from BattDepot [see: this thread]. It's worked great until just now, whenever I boot up windows I get the error
"The installed battery may not be properly connected to the computer or may not be compatible with the computer"

I googled around and found that some people fix this by disabling "isbutility" which some people say is Sony's way to force you to buy their batteries, but I want to double check before disabling it.

Is all ISBUtility really do is check for your sony battery, and if so, can I just disable it without repercussions?

Until then, I am stuck with my old battery again :'(

I would first contact the battery store and get their thoughts on this.

I think people need to stand up for themselves. This started a few years back with the printer folks telling us we can only use their branded refills in their printers.......its not bad enough they completely screw us on the refills, but then they take the refills off the market after a year or two, forcing you to buy a brand new printer.

Enough is enough with this crap.

Hi Ryan,

Sometimes the laptop does not recognize the battery. We just receive new
LSO015X from different supplier this time and we have test them and they can
be recognized. We can ship you the exchange if you want. Please fill out the
RMA form attached and email it back to us. We will email you the RMA# and
further instructions for exchange.

regards,

Battdepot

So sounds like I'm gonna need to RMA dis >.>

have you tried searching via Battery part number?

When I did a laptop search, my laptop didn't show anything up, but the part number on the battery showed up on the results and thats how I got it (also be sure to match voltage, just in case of a typo)

Default Re: New battery is "incorrectly installed"

the laptop is on its way back from Philippines, coz unfortunately my brother-in-law did something to it causing a whole bunch of cr@p... so i'm waiting till next month to get the laptop and to find out what happened to it...

edit tried search but all they have is the adapter not a battery, i had issue with the battery long time when i first got the laptop only last 1 1/2 hour of life with only viewing a video...

Hmm... So it's been 13 days since I mailed the package with the battery and I sent them an email a few days ago and I used the "Contact Us" box yesterday and I haven't gotten any responses from them.

>.>

How long does it take for a box to go from California to Canada?
