| Ok to start off i bought a new motherboard Intel DG33TL and a Q6700 Quad Processor. I Being just curious decided to check my Tempeture and first saw it was 91 degrees so shut off my machine ripped it open and found that one of the push pins wasn't all the way in (Note Best Buy Installed) So after that my computer would Idle Around 40-45 and under load was reaching up too mid 70's. I noticed my Fan would not spin any quicker then 830-840RPM. So any way i had already ordered a new Fan/Heatsink the Arctic Freeze Cooler Master Pro 7 and Temp's Came down A little about IDle 38-42 under heavy load 65-73.But Still same Problem no matter where the temp is Fan doesnt speed Up any Quicker Then 930-950RPm's. I Updated to newest version Of my Bio's, I reseted The Cmos. I have done everything i Could think of So if anyone can help me I would Appreciate it thanks. | Packers Fanboi | You might want to go into the bios and disable any sort of fan control for the processor, I know on my mobo, with whatever speed control it used by default (can't remember which one it was using) it would spin at around 800 rpm, but by turning it off it spins at 1600. That might help. |

| If you can't disable anything in the BIOS (for whatever reason) try plugging the CPU fan into a different fan header on the board (a 3 pin one instead of the 4 pin one). | when i go into the bio's setting under fan control there is a responze zone/dampining zone and respone is either normal/slow/aggresive and damping is normal or high i tried switching different configurations of these settings and didnt change |

| Packers Fanboi | Hmm, looking at Intel DG33TL G33 Express chipset mATX motherboard | silentpcreview.com, setting everything to aggressive would be the best bet, but plugging into a different fan header, or maybe even getting an adapter if possible and plugging right into a molex might be better. |

| Yeah definitely search the bios for CPU fan controls, or plug into a different MB header... | I'll check im not sure there is another 4pin header available, And as for the bio's only thing i can do is set it to high/aggresive the two options there is a 3rd option which say's to automatically detect fan's put onto motherboard but say's that option shouldnt be enabled because it can cause error's |

| Packers Fanboi | You might be able to still plug in the 4 pin fan onto one of the 4 pin headers, the 4th wire is just speed control... correct me if I'm wrong, but it should work on any header, minus the speed control (which sounds like a good thing right now.) Desktop Boards - 3-Pin and 4-Pin Fan Connectors is the best description I could find on how it should go into the 3 pin header. Last edited by theburan; February 14th, 2008 at 09:11. |

| Without the speed control it will probably run at full speed all of the time. | Colonel Calamity | and if all else fails, pickup a fan speed control (rheostat) and crank it up to see if maybe the fan itself is bad and refusing to go any faster. something like this: Newegg.com - Sunbeam RHK-BA Rheobus 20W Fan Controller (Black) - Retail ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
