Default Is my computer freezing because of this?

I currently own This MSI 945GT Speedster motherboard. As you can see under the "Supported Memory" section to the left it lists the supported memory vendors. However, I am using 2GB of DDR2 667 by Edge Technologies.

This is a picture of what I'm seeing when I run CPU-Z

Now my question is, could my memory have to do with all my various odd problems? (USB ports not working all the time, random freezing with no errors, memory saying it's bad sometimes but good other times, etc)

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 at 2.4GHz
Gigabyte P35-DS3R
4GB DDR2 667 (Corsair XMS2 x2 and Edge Technologies x2)
Saphhire X1950GT stock clocked
OCZ 700w GamerXstream power supply
Antec Three 300 case
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit with SP1

I would suggest that if you even suspect that you have bad RAM, that the easiest and safest way to test it is to download and create an .iso image of Memtest86 on a CD. Boot your computer from the CD and allow the Memtest program to run for an hour or two, using all 9 test components of the program.

Download link you need: Memtest .iso file

Memtest86 website

As a side note, for the rest of your PC's problems, through experience, the first thing I always check out if my computer starts acting funny or not behaving correctly is to check out the RAM. Nine times out of ten, I have found that my RAM is to blame for one reason or another.

Actually the memory is fine. I have run Memtest86+ like 10 times and usually it contains no errors at all. But sometimes it does, until I reseat the RAM and then the errors go away. It's kinda weird lol.

Is there a way where you can obtain (read borrow) different RAM that is known to be working that would work with your system? This can decide two things:

1. You indeed have bad RAM.
2. Something else is causing the problem.

In regards to number two, I would probably be looking at the mobo setup. Is the proc seated correctly? Does it have enough airflow? I am pretty convinced that your RAM is to blame. I would see about swapping your current RAM with modules that are known to be working correctly and see what happens.

It doesn't appear to me that you are, but are you, or have you overclocked this system at all?

I'm pretty sure the RAM is good though, because it tests out fine 99.9% of the time. I get no side effects from bad RAM, whenever the computer freezes up I always test the RAM. The computer will boot fine and perform properly even if I don't reseat the RAM. (The RAM part was just an oddity I noticed about this computer)

In regards to the second statement, the proc is seated correctly and there is a giant 250mm case fan, and another 80mm case fan. The airflow is good on it too.

Are you, or have you overclocked this system?

Also, if the MSI board does not include Edge memory as part of its supported memory package, then I would still seriously consider using RAM modules that are known to be in working condition, will operate on your computer, and are part of the supported memory that MSI lists on their website.

This system was overclocked before (to 1.97Ghz, it's stock at 1.66ghz). But at this point it's back down to stock. The RAM was never overclocked or anything like that.

This is the only DDR2 RAM that I currently own :(.

Try running with 1 stick of ram and see if it runs ok, if it doesn't then switch to the other stick and try again. Could be 1 bad stick.

send MSI an email and see if that specific kit is compatible, just because a vendor is compatible, doesn't mean the kit is.
