The Athlon 1700+ should be 11 x 133 = 1.47GHz.... if you have PC1600 memory (DDR200) then it lowered the fsb on the CPU to match the memory... so the memory is overclocked and the CPU is underclocked....
but since it shows you have PC2100 DDR233 memory, you should be able to set the multiplier and bus speed to 11 and 133 as I mentioned above.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

hmmm strange... it is automatically adding 33MHz... so you may need to check some options in the BIOS to remove that +33MHz and set the multiplier to 11 and bus speed to 133 (or 266)

screwball, i went to the BIOS settings by restarting my comp and pressing DEL at the startup. It went inside the BIOS settings, I could only find option for chaning Frequency & Voltage.

The current Frequnacy was set at 110 Mhz and the CPU ratio was set to Auto.

I could not find the Memory +33Mhz setting

interesting...so it must be picking something up automatically... oh well since you're getting the new build I wouldn't worry too much about it

This older computer could always make a kid happy or even just a good browsing box. :)

Edit: I believe all Athlon MPs had a 266FSB (133 effective). To mix things up even more, I don't remember any with a 11x multi.
Edit 2: Hmm Athlon MP 1800, 1533MHz, 11.5x multi I think. *scratches head*
Let's find it on the internet, lol.
Edit 3: AMD Athlon MP processor
All Athlon MP processors available. None with a 11x multi.
