Default Mobo/ram

ok so looks like something is wrong with the RAM or Motherboard in my build. On newegg it says that my motherboard supports DDR2 667, but on ECS it says it only supports DDR2 533 and DDR 400. Is newegg wrong?

And while I'm at it, if i go ahead and buy PC3200 will i notice and performance difference between it and DDR2 533 or 667?

When the manufacturer's statements don't match those of NewEgg's, the manufacturer is almost always correct. I've learned this the hard way, though NewEgg will generally make amends for their mistake (though they won't fix their web page).

Yep I would have to agree with Yuri on this one, I would think that the manufacture would be the correct one here.

I would contact newegg and send them the link to the manufactures web page with the info and see if they will do some kind of exchange for free.

Actually you got links to two different motherboards.
Here is the link to the model that is listed on newegg -->
ECS Web Site

Those specs match the newegg specs.

NOW, if Newegg sent you a 945GCT-M3 instead of a 945G-M3 then you have a legitimate complaint to file with Newegg. Check the model number listed on your motherboard.

As far as testing the Ram/MB, hopefully someone can jump on and help with decreasing your ram speed and/or adjusting your timings to help troubleshoot the ram/mb. I would not go buying any other ram just yet. If you do, make sure it is pc2-3200 and not standard pc3200 (I don't mean to offend, just trying to clarify).

While I don't have a DDR2 system yet, my first instinct would just be to decrease the speed down to 533 and test it out.

Do you have a link to the ram you bought? this might help everyone out that is trying to help you.

Good catch Prolific!!
And even ECS lists several different versions of the 945G-M3... Check the SKU on your motherboards box as well as the revision and model numbers printed on your motherboard and figure out exactly which revision you have and what southbridge you have.
