| I was cleaning out my computer a while back deleting old programs I don't use anymore and I guess I accidently deleted something that lets me hear sound. This is what I see whenever I try to listen to music: 'Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.' HELP! Model: K7S41GX 1.0 512 MB of Ram | ||||||||||||||

| As for sound. Go to Control Panel>Sound make sure it's not on "Mute". This has happened to me on a couple of computers I've had in the past, the sound just stops working, and then I find that it was on Mute for some reason.... ![]() ![]() Hope that helps. ![]() | ||||||||||||||

| another suggestion is to get your windows disk, put it in the drive, then go to the Start -> run -> and type in the run box: sfc /scannow this will check to make sure all your windows files are correct and installed properly ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
