Exclamation HELP! NO SOUND!

I was cleaning out my computer a while back deleting old programs I don't use anymore and I guess I accidently deleted something that lets me hear sound.
This is what I see whenever I try to listen to music:

'Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.'

HELP!

Okay, it's downloading now. Does it come with a sound driver or something?

As for sound. Go to Control Panel>Sound make sure it's not on "Mute". This has happened to me on a couple of computers I've had in the past, the sound just stops working, and then I find that it was on Mute for some reason....

Hope that helps.

if the sound still doesn't work, may be time to reinstall the sound driver...

Which one? Global or Europe?

EDIT: Tried Global, and clicked open, it dosen't open. If I open it, tell me how, and if I save it to something, tell me what to save it to.

another suggestion is to get your windows disk, put it in the drive, then go to the Start -> run -> and type in the run box: sfc /scannow
this will check to make sure all your windows files are correct and installed properly
