I got the new video card and it works. I got to the bios screen and set it to boot from cd drive first but when I put the XP disc in and restart it goes thru PCI device listing then says Verifying DMI Pool Data........
then Error Loading OS. What the heck did I do wrong?

Here's what came to my mind:

1) You didn't set the boot order correctly. Sometimes there are as many as 3 different places to choose the boot order. Look for them all and set them all to the CD drive.

2) Your CD drive isn't plugged in correctly.

Bios shows only the HDD's not the CD drives so I took one hard off and connected the CD as a slave to the master hard disc drive. Now when I go into the bios no drives show on IDE channels.

Connect only your HD and CD-Rom drive, and make sure your cables are good

My cables are good. It recognized both hard disc drives using either cable and both IDE slots worked also.

The molex connectors are good also since the one on the cd drive also power a fan and it works. This makes no sense to me. In the bios it shows nothing for that IDE channel with the cd's connected but showed the HDD's when I put them there. Do I need to do something in the bios? I hit the detect drive for that channel and it said detecting HDD which is weird and nothing happened. I put the correct date time and year in the cmos in the bios also.

CD-Drive should not showup within the BIOS, but they should on the POST screen

They show up on this computer in the bios why not the new one? Why the error loading OS message when their's no OS yet. There was a OS on the HDD but the cd drive should boot first so I can redo the OS.

The drives don't show on the boot screen. :(

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

That's incorrect - opticals should be showing up in the BIOS if hooked up correctly.

Verify that the jumpers on your drives (both HDD and optical) are set correctly. For example, if you're hooking up the HDD and optical to a single cable, make sure the jumper on the HDD is set to master, and that the jumper on the optical is set to slave.
