Default HD not showing up in windows.

I have a normal IDE drive that is from my old computer. (my OS is currently on this drive, i might switch that sooner or later though.)

And a SATA drive.

In bios both show up, and in the device manager i can see them both. and both are working properly.

But when i goto my computer the sata drive is not showing up.

any idea's?

Have you formatted and partitioned the SATA drive? The drive has to be partitioned before Windows can do anything with it (like copying files, saving things to it, even accessing it, etc)

If it is brand new and blank (or unformatted), you need to "initialize" the drive. Go to the Control Panel and double click "Administrative Tools" to open it. In there, open "Computer Management", then under the "Storage" tree, select "Disk Management". You should see all your drives in there, and be able to initialize, format and partition the drives in there how you see fit.
