| Hey guys, So i reinstalled xp on my girlfriends laptop the other night, and i can get everything but the wireless to work properly. It's a gateway mx6030 with a broadcom 802.11g wireless card. it worked fine on my home network, but it won't on hers. her sister has an identical laptop that works fine on the network. Heres the problem, the broadcom and windows wireless network programs load fine, detect and connect to the network, but then it sits there saying that it is acquiring network address for about 5 minutes before it says that it has limited/no connectivity i tried the driver from both gateway, and from broadcom anyone have any ideas? |

| Tried rebooting the router, still no luck, but it'll work fine with an ethernet cable from the router straight into the laptop, but not from the cable modem, so i'm not sure what there are for built-in hardware/controllers in her modem, it's an Arris something with no markings, the router is a small DLink DI-524 Any help right away would be great cause i'm over here now. | If you have a firewall installed try disabling it. If you can than connect, it is a firewall setting giving you fits.
