Default FireFox Trouble

Hey guys,

For some reason firefox is really acting up on me. Scrolling is delayed on pages (when I'm even able to scroll at all), and I can no longer press the scroll wheel in for fast scrolling. Also, I am not able to switch between tabs, and whenever I shut down firefox and attempt to restart it, I get a message saying firefox is still running and not responding (strangely, firefox is absent from my running apps when I check).

Any idea as to whats up? I did just take apart and put back together my comp yesterday, but I don't see how that would affect firefox.

Hey man, I upgraded you to firefox 3 last night. I've put it on several other computers so far, so I didn't anticipate you running into any issues. Go ahead and backup your bookmarks and then uninstall firefox. Then go into c->program files and delete the Mozilla firefox directory. Then restart your computer and download firefox again. I would personally try installing firefox 3 again (just google firefox 3 download), but if you want you can just download 2 since it's stable. Your previous FF installation seemed a bit wonky, so I dunno if that issue carried over or if there's an incompatibility with your system. Anyways, give that a shot and keep me posted. Sorry about your problem.

My FF started acting up on both laptops and my desktop after the update that came out the other day. It has settled down since, but I can't recall if an update to the update came out during the last 48 hours or not. My kids have gotten into the habit of just hitting install update whenever the FF updater pops up, so I don't track it as close as I used to.

yeah i was having wierd issues with FF as well. anytime i tried to open an image, or a link to an image, it would act all sorts of crazy. wouldnt let me expand the picture to its maximum size, was constantly refreshing so i couldnt copy the link. i uninstalled it and have been using IE since. waiting on FF3 now

not by choice, trust me. plus FF doesnt play well when writing reviews, so you may as well ban everyone with a green or bold red name

FF is one of the few programs that is very stable and works well for me. Of course I am so used to beta testing everything I am used to instability.
I do have FF3 beta on my laptop under Ubuntu 8.04 and it works very well there without a single problem.

Thanks HL and Corsair!
