Question Fatal Error!

Well just got back to college, and looks like my computer got f---ed up. I got two of the same fatal errors:::::

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

GAH! My whole life is going down the drain. Anyone know whats wrong I must say though i have gotten this before, several times i think, but not one after the other in under ten minutes.

blue screen of death?

Might be a virus or corrupted harddrive. My english teacher's desktop at school had something like that due to a bad HDD.

Ouch, also might want to take a look at support.microsoft.com, try searching for those codes, they have a lot of info there. Might not be the answer you want to hear though.

I had a BSOD recently and reinstalling windows solved the problem. It's a pain but if everythings backed up it's just a matter of time.

The specs in your sig, is that this machine?
Sony support page

Looking at their support, I see:
1) GoBack Causes a Stop Error C000021a - After you install Roxio GoBack (included with Norton System Works), and attempt to start your computer, you may receive an error message similar to the following: C000021a (fatal system error). The session manager initialization system process...

I'm assuming that since Sony mentions Go Back, that it's possibly installed on your system?

against popular opinion, may I suggest Ubuntu Linux 6.06.1?

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I really have no comment to say to that...

AS to your problem, just reboot and see if it does it again, if it does you have a problem, if it doesn't then it was probably just some random error.
