Default Factory GPU clocks artifacting

OK, so I was playing FlatOut 2, and the monitor goes all funny. There are little white lines and flashes of ramdon color, you know like you were watching an old movie with all the little lines except they were in color. I exit out of FlatOut 2, but the little white lines still remain. I restart and it goes back to normal. Fire up FlatOut 2 again and the same thing. How is it that factory memory and GPU clocks are causing artifacts? Does this fall under the lifetime warranty that BFG provides? Is there a fix?

Thanks, Nate

One biggie here, is make sure that the fan is running on your video card!!! If it is, then I would be looking at a fan and heat sink cleaning!!!

If sure sound like a overheating problem on the video card!

Sometimes there is a plastic film over the cooler when you first buy it. Make sure it's removed. Do not take off the heatsink or modify the card to make the cooling better. Make sure everything is seated properly.

Try reinstalling your drivers. If that doesn't work, contact BFG.

I just bought the card (as well as my entire new computer) a few weeks ago, so I don't think it's a dust problem. I opened up the case and checked for a plastic film, but it's not there. I'm thinking it's a driver problem, as I just installed the Xtreme-G drivers a few days ago. Do you guys (and gals) think installing the official nVidia drivers would fix the problem?

Yeah, I think that the Xtreme-g drivers were messing up my system. Uninstalled the drivers the "proper" way and fired up FlatOut 2, no artifacts yet.

Some people have seen great increases in video performances with the hacked drivers, and some have not, along with issues!!!

The only problem that I had with them is the damn fan would run at full tilt all of the time!!!!

I have gotten so used to the "quiet" system, that the only time the video fan should run full tilt is during gaming!!!
