Default DMI Help Boot

Well another problem has occured on my computer. I now get a "verifying dmi pool data....." and it freezes. It wont move, normally I dont even see this screen but for some reason now I do.

Right before this happend I was reading a article on digg, and downloading some music, and i couldent access my system tray (with start, and the windows tab bars on the bottom), the only thing I could use was firefox. It was weird and I dono if it has anything to do with it.

Specs:
AMD 2500+ Barton
Gigabyte GA-7N400L Mobo
ATI 9600XT
2x512 Corsair 3200
WD 80g

ermm if youve got a bootable cd like the windows cd, try booting that, you dont have to do anything with it. if it can boot into that i'd say hard drive problems but im not 100% sure.

try memtest, you can make a boot disk and test your RAM at once. I dunno what else to recommend. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

Disk Read Error Has Occured
CTRL+ALT+DEL to Restart

That is now what it gives me about 30 seconds after the Verifying DMI Pool Data....

What does this Disk Error mean? And how do I go along fixing it.

You might try a complete scan disk with surface scanning and auto repair checked (you may need a boot disk if you don't have the XP CD and run the scandisk from that). That way it will mark the bad sectors as bad so windows won't write info to them again. That will buy you more time before you have to replace the HD. But if you have alot of bad sectors then you will notice a drop in the amount of usable space on the drive. Just a FYI, surface scanning WILL take a long time. You may have to reinstall windows after the repair.
