|  COD4 Crash This only happens when I paly multiplayer, the single player works fine. When I change the res or the refreash rate of my screen, the games closes down and about 20 seconds later I get the message; "DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error. Check readme for possible solutions" The worst part when you boot COD4 up next time it gives you the option to run in safe made, which I did. Now this was a mistake as its now stuck in 640x480 and its REALLY not nice  .Anyone ever had this or got a fix?    |

| Re: COD4 Crash Sorry, I just worked it out. It only has that problem when I boot it through Steam, which has many problems of its own. I find myself having to go into the task manager and manually stop the Steam process every time I want to use it, and im sick of it. Sorry for the thead waste  |

| Re: COD4 Crash I love steam, but it seems that they are having a few problems now with all the games they are now supporting. Had like 3 steam updates in the past two weeks Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |

| Re: COD4 Crash I got that error... once. Never happened again. I looked at it and was like WTF because one of my friends who just bought a 9800GTX got that error.
