| I'm running 4GB of Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 with those nice DHX heatspreaders. Well, supposed to be running 4GB. My BIOS recognizes that 4GB of memory is existent. However, once I boot into Vista, all I get is 2GB of memory.... Any ideas? I've googled this and seen that this is actually a common thing with Vista. There was some fix that would extend the memory cap on Vista 32-bit, but it didn't work for me. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 | ||||||||||||||

| 1) Make sure you're running the latest BIOS. 2) On that motherboard, disable 'Memory Hole Remapping' | ||||||||||||||

I couldn't get the floppy to work on that computer. The FDD port on the PC was weird.... I tried to plug in the cable and it pushed out a pin (still soldered onto the board, just bent. I'm a bit lost on that. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 | |||||||||||||||

| If you're running Vista 32bit, 3GB is likely the best you're going to get. ![]() If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you? | ||||||||||||||

| Interesting... My BIOS now says I have 3GB of memory and not the original 4GB. So, all you guys with 4GB are running Vista x64? My bro has a copy of it that he forgave in favor of Vista x86 due to driver woes. Any ideas on the FDD port though? I looked at the cable and it was different on both ends. I tried both ends with no luck. This is odd, considering this EXACT cable worked fine in the Dell. Can you sometimes use 32-bit drivers on a 64 bit install? - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 | ||||||||||||||

| I'm using Vista 64bit edition indeed. As for drivers, you need 64bit drivers. Signed, on top of that. Vista 64bit is a b**** about that. Read carefully. The connector close to the slit on the floppy cable goes in the floppy, and normally the different wire (red normally) on the cable goes toward the power on the floppy. The different wire indicated pin 1. If the floppy light stays on, then the pin 1 isn't at the good place, flip the connector over. :) ![]() If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power.
