Exclamation Board won't post! Infinite reboot.....

Hey guys,

I got the board and PSU Rich sent me today
Thanks again Rich!

So I just hooked it all up, I press the power button, the lights come on, the fans spin, and then it stays on for 5 seconds.... then it turns itself off, and turns itself back on, I'm not sure whats wrong.

I've got all the correct connections, I try turning it on without an HD or optical drive, tried one RAM stick.... nothing.

Any idea's?

Oh yea, duh. Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R.

Edit: Clearing the CMOS did the trick actually.
So, false alarm!

Wow, how ironic is this? I have the exact same motherboard, and today it began doing the same thing to me. Only in my case, resetting the CMOS, removing the battery, reseating components, reducing components to the bare minimum and other troubleshooting tasks left me nowhere except me staring at a dead freakin' motherboard.

By the way, the issues with this particular motherboard are not localized events. This motherboard is known by name for the "Power Re-cycling" issue as it has now become called; 24 pages and counting can't be wrong:

GA-P35C-DS3R problems - TweakTown Forums

I'll be RMA'ing this motherboard back to Gigabyte where hopefully they replace it with one that isn't FUBAR'd. Props to Rich for sending out an e-mail to Gigabyte in an effort to resolve this quickly.

I had this happen to me with a gigabyte board, it was a p965-s3 though.

Annoying, to say the least. (still not really sure if it was because of bad ram and a video card that was bad, or if it was the other way around.... blah.)

Glad to hear it's working!
