| I have had this happen to me 2wice now... I am plaing COD2 and the system reboots on me.... but just before it reboots there is a blue screen with some error messages on it probably explaining what went wrong. the problem is it flashes soooo fast I can't read any of it at all. Its too quick. Is there an error log somewheres that I can go and look at after its rebooted or do I need to activate a error logging file in Windows or Nvidia, so I can figure this out?? Would pressing on teh keyboard either -Scroll Lock or PauseBreak key freeze the screen for me inorder to get a chance to read it/??? thanks.... | 5 Minute Mod Man | Go to MY COMPUTER, in the left menu click View System Information, Click the ADVANCED tab, in the System and Recovery area, click the Settings button (there are multiple Settings buttons, make sure you go down and click the one in the System and Recovery area), then uncheck [color=White]the box to Automatically Restart in the System Failure area. | No it wont stop your BSOD but it will enable you to see the error code which will help diagnose the failure. It might help looking in your log files for error codes but the BSOD error is the failure code on why windows said "Screw you I don't want to work any more." In your control panel/Administrative Tools/event viewer you can see all the issues that windows is haven. Good luck. |

| My system BSOD's because either the NB is overheating or there was a RAM problem. Maybe the same for you? E8400 DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL 4GB G.Skill 800MHz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB Silverstone DA650W WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB |

| NB = Northbrigde??? I am going to do a memtest tomorrow to check they are okay. remember Im the guy with the 2 8800's right on top of the PSU.........remember?? Seems to come and go. trying to find the time to spend on it to actually see whats whats and who's who...... watch now that I have set it to stop on the error, it wont happen... LOL... one can only hope eh? If I can cross thread here... may I ask a question?? I removed the bottom 8800 GTX from the computer.... and notcied there were only 3 screws holding the black cover on the card.... so I said what the heck... I removed the black cover.... will this casue a problem on the card... cause in my eyes all it did was remove alot of "aluminum" or whatever its made out of (cast maybe) out of the case... seems to be more room now between the PSU and the card. But will this cause the heat to just sit there around the card? I mean, the fan I am assuming pulled air into the GPU and forced it through the shrowds then out the back of the case.....or maybe it blowed the air away form the card.... actually not sure which way the fan blows... guess I should check this out.....anyways.... was removing the cover a bad idea?? | you removed the heatsink? if yes very bad idea, GPU creats a lot of heat, which technically in law of physics must be absorbed by the heatsink then expelled out thats the reason of the heatsink, probably this is the area or reason causing the BSOD, driver failing due to overheat... you might wan to show some pix on how did you removed or provided more a space bet the PSU and 2nd GPU... pushing air towards GPU wont takes out the heat, it will need a Heatsink to draw the heat out... | this is before.... ![]() and this is after removing the case's ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() like I said,,, the heat shrouwds and fan are still on the card... I just removed the godly huge outter case...... I havn't run the system like this yet and I could always just say I was gonna clean the cards really well... LOL... To me I would think they be more ventelated..... no, or now cause I removed the shell there is no way to force the air through the shrowds out the back of the case????
