Default AVG results

Everytime I run AVG anti spyware,it comes up with tracking cookies.I run it,remove them, reboot, run the scan, and bingo! Now there are more than when I started with, and the ones that were previously removed, are back as well. SS&D didnt find anything on a second scan after initial removal.I ran McAffee and found nothing.Ran the registry cleaner, cleared cookies, cache etc. I also ran windows defender and found nothing.
Is the AVG full of dung or am I losing my mind?

my vote's on AVG full of dung. I personally don't think AVG's good at all, only useful to stop windows from popping up the antivirus not found icon (which you can disable anyway)

I have never had a problem with AVG... it sounds like with multiple programs on the system one is preventing AVG from removing those files so they stay where they are. I myself use a combination of AVG for email, Avira for regular anti-virus stuff, Spyware Terminator for spyware protection, Spyware Blaster to prevent alot of it from even being written to my system and Comodo firewall. I tried ThreatFire but even on my E6600 system it was too much of a resource hog.
I always say stick with one program for each use because many times they conflict. Mcafee and Norton are the two biggest causes of conflict on any system.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Try clearing out your system restore files, then run Spybot and AVG again.

on top of what Carl said, it may help to run a few scans in safe mode to make sure a virus or trojan isn't in the background preventing the removal of these files

I dumped AVG.Loaded up Spyware Terminator. Ran that and found a couple things and removed them.I also had downloaded something that came with google toolbar.I dont want that crap so I got rid of it...or so I thought.I did a search and found it hanging around...gone now it is.Damn tracking cookies anyway, and 1 keylogger. Will have to see if they stay away now.

I uninstalled avg today or ms desktop, have avast! running instead. Hopefully that works more thoroughly than avg.
