Another RAID 0 XP problem: Check for virsus? Hey guys,
Alright... Not long ago I posted about windows installer not detecting the RAID 0 array. I managed to get it working before and installed windows XP fine. However, I realized I installed it on the wrong controller. I used the JMB363 while I meant to use the SB600 since JMB363 has plug n play which I need for my HDD enclosure.
I spent the past 6 hours trying to get this to work and nada. I went into BIOS and enabled RAID. I have a floppy with RAID drivers for the SB600 (got it off of my mobo's company's website). I select the drivers via F6 and it goes well. After it loads all drivers I get a stupid "check for viruses" error. However, the drive is blank so there is nothing on it. I checked it with SpinRite to make sure its fine and I even formated it via windows disk management using quick format about 10 times and full format about 2 times. Every time I get the same blue screen. I tried going into BIOS and I deleted and rebuilt the RAID 0 array 3 times. Still nada.
About a hour ago I booted into my old windows drives but forgot to disable RAID. I got a "do you want to install drivers for new hardware?" popup from windows and installed RAID drivers. My current windows install detects the RAID 0 drive on the AMD SB600 controller. I tried formating it quick but it still gives me the same BSOD when I try to install windows on it.
Does anyone know what this means or how I can fix it?
Cheers,
