Default Anomalous PC Mark Results

Firstly, I am well aware of all the arguments against synthetic benchmarks. PCmark is useful to me in being able to guage differences between clock settings and such.
Anyways. My score with my current setup was roughly 4400 before I formatted my system yesterday, and afterwards it has dropped to 4000. Finding this odd I compared my results online with nearly identical systems (same proc@ same speed, same motherboard, ram, etc...) All the test results were on target except for the Transparent Windows test. Mine was about 200 compared about 700 for everyone else, and 950 for me before the format. I ran the test again to watch the TW test and could visually notice it running much much more slowly then before.

Basically, I need to find out what the transparent windows test uses to run to track down the problem. I have the latest video drivers, directx 9c, latest chipset, etc installed. I don't really care about the score, but I do care that whatever is hindering my TW test might be effecting everyday operation.

Thanks for any advice!

Does it maybe have to do with what you are running in the background? Is it the same as before?
What about windows firewall, automatic updates, folder option, etc...

You may have changed different settings before that you have not done with the new install. You may have to really think about what the options were set at with the last install. (I know, you can't remember 10min ago ).

I believe all the settings should be the same, and I always run the tests with all background programs deactivated. Because it's such a drastic drop, There has to be something that's not installed, or not installed correctly, or perhaps some major setting which is incorrect.

If it were just a little drop, I wouldn't think anything of it, but I believe something has to be completely borked to cause a 70% drop in performance.

That's why I wish I knew what the test uses to run so I could narrow it down. =*(

Transparent window uses video card methinks. Check if ATITool is not being fuzzy w/ the ati services.

have you installed the patch for it? Drivers are a given, but always make sure you have up to date patches installed

Actually, that second place score is mine too, lol.
Thanks for the help guys, next time I'll check for id10T errors before I post :P

Also that's very very weird. I used to get 1400 in the transparent window section with my X850 XT!

I am stoked that my old 478 system was able to almost keep up with your 3GHz Athlon!

Hyperthreading, one could say.
What's up with the X850 XT PE? Seems a bit low on the GFX scores.

Quick run on the current system; http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=506812
