Default AHHHHHHH!What is wrong with my rig!?

I was on software forum posting a message, then my rig froze, i hit reset and windows started to boot, but after it does the thing where it makes the keyboard lights blink it just froze, SO i took my CPU down from 2.0GHz to the Stock 1.8, still no go, then down to 1.6 and it booted VERY VERY slow, and any HD use cause it to momentaraly lock up. Then I went into the bios, hit the 4x multiplier for the CPU, brought the HT down to 600MHz, disabled any extra things. Saved and reboot, windows stopped booting. I turned off the PC, turned the PSU power off, then let it sit for about 2 minutes, I power on and whadda know? It booted windows perfectly...Is something getting to hot? The CPU wasnt breaking 42*C at 2Ghz...

My guess would be bad PSU or CPU just from the things you tried.

Since it works after being turned off for a few minutes, I'd say you've got an overheating problem. Make sure all of your heat sinks are placed correctly, that the fans are all plugged in and working, and you have thermal paste under every heat sink.

Sounds like an overheating issue to me, check your HSF and make sure the fan is spinning. If thats working, check to make sure its seated properly on the CPU.....if thats fine, next check the chipset

Interesintg...The CPU wasnt reporting that high of temps (about 42*C load), but I just rebuilt the whole rig, and cleaned out all the sinks.. Rebooted. Its been runnign for about 3 hours now with not one problem, the interesting things is that, the CPU was really clogged with dust...but I cleaned it all out, and the temps are reporting the same..I guess my temp are messed up?

I'd say it sounds like you're reading the wrong temperature readings. Open up SpeedFan and unplug your CPU fan for a few seconds to see which temperature increases. That'd be the one you want.

I am reading the correct temperature- I've checked with several different programs. I really do believe my sensors are messed up. The second I kill WCG(folding project) the temp drops to about 34*C. Then the second I fire it back up, it jumps to 42-43*C.

My old mobo was better I think with temps. Same CPU to
Idle usually read 27*C and load was 35-37*C, wich seems more likely, considering this is a single winchester at stock, while this same cooler is cooling dual core CPUs fine

Well for a person who refuses to run any kind of stability testing programs, your kinda in the dark. lol

Every MB reads temps different. I say run SP2004 Prime95 to ensure stability.
