Default VTech power cord WANTED

Model Talking wizkid notebook. I need a power cord for it.( 9v ) but can only be the original cord from manufacture,as a different kind of 9v wont fit.
Also,it takes batteries, but im not sure if the batteries ran the notebook or were for some other reason used in it.If someone has,or can remember what the batteries did/do...let me know.Maybe I don't need a power cord...it may be dead, because the batteries don't do anything,at this point.

Get one of those universal adapters. You choose the tip (unless it's a truly unique tip) and you can choose the voltage (just don't pick the wrong one). I bought one and it had upwards of 20 tips to choose from. I've never had anything that it didn't fit, but I don't doubt that it's definitely possibility... Good luck. I hate dealing with those stupid power cords. They either break or you lose them...

Seconded on the universal cord... just get the next higher mAh, if the toy says 650 mAh, buy one that is rated for 800 or 1000, the toy only uses at most it rating (650) but the power brick allows for some overhead (just like your computer may only use 500W but the PSU is rated for 900W for example). Make sure you match the +o- polarity and it should work fine, I have done this for years. Radioshack has the universal type where you buy the brick and then match the proper tip which uses a 2 pin plug in type... they should be able to help you with the polarity too (make sure it is a senior associate or manager as the kids are useless).

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Radio Shack has the best selection of these universal power cords. Take the toy in with you and they will get you fixed up quick.

Tanx everyone. I may just give it a heave in the garbage....the new batteries I put in it dont do anything.I'm not sure it is worth getting the cord now.I'm not sure if the batteries made it function without a power cord or not.Four C-cell batteries. The unit calls for 9v. I have 9v here but wont fit.Have to see what the mama wants to do.

EDIT: the batteries may have been just there to keep the memory, while unplugged. Not sure though.
