Default The HL Hoopty Rig Part List

Welcome to the HL Hoopty Rig Part List/Donation Thread.

We strongly believe in community, and helping others. This thread is first and foremost for donating parts to the list....then when we come up with a candidate for our Hoopty System, the person who does the nominating gets the parts, puts the system together, and presents it to the family or child in need of a computer. So if you've got something you want to donate to the cause, please post in this thread with as much information about the part as you can!

Mods......just update this thread with the available parts, with the donor's name in parenthesis

I've found a P4 1.7GHz processor....the caveat? It has 10-12 bent pins. My eyes are nowhere good enough to try and straighten them, but i know this processor is still good, and will be a good hoopty rig CPU......anyone who wants to fix it up and use it for the next build drop me a PM and I'll send it out

Bremerton family loses home after storm | KOMO 1000 News Radio - News, Weather and Sports - Seattle, WA Seattle, Washington | Local & Regional

I have a candidate. Local family lost it all in a fire. They are currently looking for a place to live. But I'm sure that they would like a computer when they get a place. There is an email link at the end of the story for those that want to help that goes to the news station.

If you would like to head up this project, just start a new thread here detailing who, what, when, etc. Are you in close enough proximity to this family to deliver the completed system?

I don't know them personally. I will see what I can do to find them.

I have a lot of friends still living in San Diego that have been evacuated because of the fires burning down Southern California. A lot of them have been told to leave their homes and are all spread out throughout the city. Hopefully their homes are still standing but if one of them loses their house to the fire, I'll recommend them for a Hoopty Rig.

It really works best if there is a "go-to" person who starts the parts inventory list, collects the parts, assembles the system, and delivers it to the person(s). If you would like to be a "go-to" person for a Hoopty Rig project, just start a thread and get some parts requests!
