Default ThunDA's AMD Overclocking Guide

Quote:
When A64 processors first came out they confused even some of the more experienced overclockers because there were a lot of different terms being used. But it’s not much different once you know how to isolate the parts of your system to find their maxes. This is one of the most common things people overlook when trying to overclock an A64 system for the first time. Hopefully this guide will teach you how to isolate these parts and help you get that extra performance boost you want.

This guide is fantastic. Good job Thunda. When i first started overclocking on the A64 it was a strange because of the new things like HTT etc. This guide clearly explains everything and more.

Maybe showing some CPU-Z screenshots along the way so people can kindof get the idea of what is changing? Just a thought.

That sounds good .. or maybe some bios shots ?

Although maybe cpuz pics will be better since bios shots will make it more DFI specific..

BIOS shots would be good too. I was kindof thinking the same thing as you ThunDA that every BIOS is going to be different, but maybe shots of some of the more basic things like HTT frequency, the LDT multi's, CPU multi, and memory timings...

Lets see what Capper and some others think.. It might be best to stick with cpuz like you originally said to keep things more universal.

If I was to include bios shots I probably wouldnt want to include memory timings since DFI's are waaaay different then other mobo's..

Plus, if I did memory timings I think people would just load up the settings I have listed regardless of the type of ram they have.. Which would probably cause more harm then good..lol
