The specks being said, lets get to the meat of this great power supply!
The most exclusive item with the Hiper R series of power supplies is the reusable tool box that the unit comes in!!!! No one else has this option.

Once you use the power supply, then you have a nice little tool box to store the extra modular cables as well as some extra screws, tools and other little nick knacks that you might want to take to your next LAN party!!!
The tool box isn’t huge, but it is plenty big enough to hold lots of goodies. It measures
12” wide, 8” deep, and 7” tall. SWEET!

The box even comes with a removable tray.

Next is the cables that are included.

As you can see, there is a lot of connectors to work with!!!

And the user guide. This guide is printed in several languages.

Now we will go on to the meat, the power supply itself. This PSU is almost a candy apple red!!!
This power supply has the big 120mm whisper quiet bottom fan. This fan is made with a chrome
coating on it. It has the standard wire grill that seems to be pretty tough.

I have to tell ya that the pictures really don’t do this PSU justice!!

The rear fan is an 80mm that is also chrome and has the wire grill.
One other nice touch about these power supplies, if you do shut your
computer off every day, you will notice, (if the PSU is hot), that the
rear 80mm will stay running for up to 5 minutes after shutting down
your system! Very nice for expelling the excess heat from the system, as
well as the power supply unit itself!!!

This is a fantastic looking and performing power supply!
It is almost noiseless!! Even when gaming you really can't hear this PSU. It would seem that the 80mm fan in the rear
of this PSU is turned down very low just to expel the excess heat.

At the time of this review, Newegg has this PSU for $89.99 USD + shipping!!!
This is a great buy for anyone looking to put a great looking high performance power supply in there system.
It is SLI and Crossfire ready, and supports all of the current AMD and Intel chips.

I do however regret that at this time I was not able to attain power levels at idle and loads!

If you are interested in purchasing one of these PSU's here is the current newegg link!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817128004

These power supplies also come in Blue, Black, and Silver, as well as this candy apple Red version.
I am to understand that the Blue supply is almost like a candy apple affect or as it is called in todays terms "transparent Blue"

I hope that you all find this review to be informative!

Dano

Nice review! Very good-looking PSU, and i love the modular cables.

How loud is it idle/mid load/full load? It has two fans, so I would imagine that airflow is pretty good. On the other hand, there appears to be a grill on the side to equalize the pressure so wouldn't that allow hot air to bleed back into the case?

But hey, if it runs cool and quiet, then that sounds good to me!

I find it interesting that the Hiper uses Military like connectors at the PSU. If you look on ANY military helicopter, those are the type of screw on cable connectors we use. Once they lock in, they ain't coming off until you're ready to take them off!

Very nice review too!

I hadn't heard much about them so was leary of purchasing one of them. But I almost did just for the modularity and the cool cables!

And they come in a cool little thing you can use as a lunch box!

Hahaha!

Yeah, those connectors are nice. Whenever I see connectors like that, I think of a Datron tactical radio or something. Very cool!

I always thought the connectors themselves were a major selling point of this psu.

They are a very good hi performance PSU!!! And I have to tell all of you that the connectors to the supply are totally solid, and fit perfect. I have a ultra modular, some of the first modular PSU's, and this power supply just blows it away

If you look at Zambini's rig, he just purchased a Silver version of this same PSU!!!.............

I really wish that I could of done a good idle and load test on this PSU, but my dang multimeter took a great big stinky s**t about a month ago, and I just, being lazy, haven't went and got another one LOL

I will try to do that in the next week or so and update the performance of this fantastic power supply!!!

I am really happy with this product

Well picked up a digital multimeter today finally, at a tune of $117.00, but it was a needed tool!

I will get the idle and load voltage readings up on the original review

Ah, yea I know Blake, this one has a temperature probe, + and - voltages, and a ton of other features that I use regular. It also has amp draw on it as well, and comes with a 5 year warranty.
